Job Summary

Blaine Industrial Supply is located in Hobbs, New Mexico. We supply our customers with all their janitorial and sanitation supplies. We have been a locally owned business for over 50 years and continue to take pride in our family oriented business practices.

We are hiring for a Showroom Sales Associate! We also offer an environment to grow and succeed in as well as a competitive salary. The position’s earning potential is $17.00/hour (this includes $15.00/hour base pay plus $2/hr earned incentives). There is a $500 sign-on bonus.

The position is Monday through Friday starting as early as 7:00 a.m. but may vary depending on company needs.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide a positive and professional image for the company
  • Provide an exceptional, engaging, and value-added showroom sales consultation process while building rapport and understanding with all walk-in customers
  • Taking initiative in developing ongoing product knowledge
  • Support promotional showroom activity/events
  • Maintain positive, long-term customer relationships
  • Invoice all showroom orders and process customer payments
  • Balance cash box and petty cash
  • Run sales reports as requested
  • Contact inactive house accounts and make cold calls to continue growing business
  • Manage showroom inventory and displays
  • Maintain cleanliness of showroom and customer entrance

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required, college degree in Business with a Major in Sales or Marketing preferred (other college degrees accepted if approved by management)
  • Valid Texas driver’s license required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in showroom, outside, or inside sales setting with face-to-face customer interaction required
  • Experience in the janitorial/paper industry preferred
  • Ability to understand the needs of business accounts through conversational interaction and converting those needs into sales required
  • Ability to do routine business math calculations including computation of sales costs with comparison with other vendors of janitorial supplies
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written required
  • MS Office experience required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
